Webinar:
The Transforming Landscape of Pharmacy Benefits: What Employee Benefits Specialists Need to Know
April 22, 2026
12:00 - 1:00 pm ET
|
The pharmacy benefits landscape is shifting as legislative pressure and evolving drug pipelines reshape how PBMs operate and how plan sponsors manage drug spend. With opaque pricing structures, complex rebate mechanisms, and limited visibility into true costs, transparency has become a critical priority, especially as regulatory activity—such as North Carolina’s SCRIPT Act—introduces fiduciary standards and point‑of‑sale rebate requirements. Key cost drivers like unit price, drug mix, and gross‑to‑net factors remain central challenges, even as biosimilar expansion, GLP‑1 pipeline growth, and rebate erosion accelerate market change through 2029. In this environment, employers that prioritize transparent models, aligned incentives, and actionable data will be best positioned to control costs and adapt to the evolving PBM model.
